SLIDER HOME - LAGUNA - RALLY - EPCO - RECTANGULAR - U-PATCH - CW - 3-PANEL - COTTAGE

Instructions for Top Hung U-Patch Roller System with Fixed and Slider, in which the Fixed Panel Holds up the Header (track.)

This is a drawing of the Roller system and Header-track.

Rollers and stops have to be set in the header before the track is installed from wall to wall. See below.
The stops are adjustable from below using the allen wrenches. The strength of snapping to closed is adjustable as well as position. They are optional. Having to pull a shower door open when it is snapped closed can be a little annoying.

Drill 1/4" Holes in tile with included glass and tile drill bit, using water to keep it cool. The location of the header clips is shown on this Drawing of Door and Fixed. The top of the clip is door-glass-height plus 2" off the curb.

Mark the hole location by holding the clip in position. The top of the header is door-glass-height plus 2-1/8". Hold the header up there to make sure the horizontal position is good..

Before you mount the header insert roller and, if you want to use them, the door stops, one on each end.

These are the parts for the Roller system.

1. Cover Slides onto the assembly
2. Pressure Plate
3. Gasket
4. Spacer for 3/8". (Other spacer also included are for 5/16" and 1/2" Glass)
5. Tempered Glass Panel with Notch
6. Gasket
7. Pressure Plate
8. Rollers
9. Bolt
10. Bolt retainer
11. Allen Screw
12. Holes in Bolt head for adjustment of height.
13. Adjusting Rod
14. Allen Screws
15. Cover
16. Bottom Guide
17. Bottom Guide Insert
18. Template for cutting Holes in Glass - Not used.

This shows how the Bolt is installed into the Patch.
The roller assembly screws onto the bolt. The height can be adjusted after door in installed with the included small rod.

This shows the top bracket for the fixed panel. It has to be attached to the header (track) with bolts. We are supposed to include these with your order.

Install the Fixed Panel First.
Set the fixed panel on wood shims in the opening. Never let the glass touch the tile or anything hard.
With the brackets mounted to the glass you can then mark the hole locations in the header. Drill those and intall the fixed panel.
The fixed panel should be setting in the U-Channel at the bottom and there should be silicone under the U-Channel. We've found this works fine. There is really no need to screw the U-Channel down. There must be clear plastic shims inside the U-Channel for the glass to sit on.
This section may seem a little backward-ly written but hopefully your mind will rearrange events for you.

The are brackets for the bottom of the fixed panel.
We substitute U-Channel for these. If they are in the box, then discard them.
This shows the fixed panel bolted to the header (track).
The fixed panel is going to hold the header up - keep it from sagging as it is not strong enough to support the weight of the glass door over 60".
Another shot of the Roller and fixed panel bracket.

Once the header and fixed panel are installed then carefully bring the door inside the shower, if that's where it goes. The inside light goes closest to the shower head. Do you know why these showers are so spiritual? answer.
The door can be on the inside or the outside.

The fixed Panel holds up the middle of the header track.

These are the Stops which go inside the header with the rollers, if you want to use them.
I think having the door snap open and closed is a nuisance.
This is the bottom Guide with Inserts. The white plastic parts on the left are for 1/2" glass. On the right are inserts for 3/8" glass.
Other pieces that you will not need. There is also a white plastic guide used for drilling the notches in the glass. The glass will come with notches already cut and drilled.

This Door is on the inside but you can also install the door on the outside of the fixed panel.

This photo doesn't show the Threshold that was installed on the curb. The curb was not sloped into the shower enough. A threshold was necessary.
Threshold is placed just outside of Door. It is fastened with silicone. The little drawing shows a door on the outside. If your door is "the inner light", then the drawing would be backwards.

Bulb seal on the bottom edge of the door causes water to drip off inside the threshold.

You may have to silicone between fixed panel and guide and threshold to keep water from running out the joints. Depends on your shower and curb space time geometry.

Bulb seal goes on both sides of door to keep door from exploding when it bumps the tile. This works very nicely.

One last tip. Instead of siliconing the fixed panel to the tile, so long as your glass is a nice fit to the tile you might be able to use a bulb seal there and simply press the fixed against the bulb seal to make a seal to the tile. Know what I am trying to say? Even if there is a gap there, it probably won't leak.
